Voices of Ventura County
A group of local survivors formed Voices of Ventura County (Voices). The members volunteer their time and share their stories to raise awareness, provide support, education, and resources to others.
Survivors offer a unique perspective beyond any professional experience or statistical data; consequently, Voices members are an integral part of the development and planning of the Ventura County FJC. They are committed to improving the pathways to hope and healing.
In my three decades of policing in Ventura County I have seen the trauma and devastation of family violence firsthand. The Family Justice Center fulfills a long overdue need by bringing together a wide array of services and resources in a collaborative manner. Designed to provide on-going and comprehensive support to victims of family violence, the Family Justice Center will affect positive change towards ending the cycle of violence that often results in generations of victimization. The Ventura Police Department is proud to be a part of this collective effort – together we can make a difference.
